Summer Reading is due the first week of school.
Summer Reading is due the first week of school. That leaves a week if you haven't started it yet.
Information was sent home at the end of the school year, but it can also be found online at:

***Specific grade level lists were created by the 6th grade teachers last year. A lot of thought was put into these lists including, different reading levels, interests, connections to the curriculum, and popular titles. **Copies of some of the titles have been left in the main office at the Middle School should you want to sign out a book :)
During the first week of school students in my ELA classes will be asked to complete their summer reading assessment. The writing prompt will ask them to write a well developed response focusing on the main character (character traits/development) OR the theme of the book they read this summer. Specific evidence from the book will help you earn a top score. The writing prompt will serve as a baseline for their writing this year and will be calculated in the 1st term grades. I encourage all students to take notes and bring them in to use on this assessment. Please email if you have any questions.
